This is not parenting advice
Matrescence is about the mother, not how she parents. It is the often unspoken emotional, physical and identity shift that comes with becoming a mother. We create space to understand that change, rather than rush past it or try to fix it.

At a time of intense change, mothers need somewhere to:
-
Reflect without judgement.
-
Learn without instruction.
-
Be curious, compassionate and courageous.
-
Reconnect with themselves as women, not just caregivers.
That space is still missing. So we created it.
Meet Amanda and Clare
We are long-standing friends who have brought together our personal and professional lives to create The Mother Holding.
Between us, we bring deep coaching experience, lived experience across decades of motherhood, and an unshakeable belief that mothers matter.
Amanda is an antenatal and postnatal teacher and a qualified transformational coach. Clare is a qualified coach specialising in behavioural change, with an MA in Leadership, and is also an author.
We have been friends for over 30 years. Between us, we have raised seven children, lived through joy, challenge, grief and reinvention, and relied on our friendship to survive and thrive.
We know personally and professionally that when motherhood is supported well, it can unlock confidence, clarity and strength that lasts a lifetime.
We have both found our 40s and 50s to be some of our most rewarding years yet, and we want mothers to know this:
There is hope at every stage.

Instead, we:
-
Create calm, welcoming spaces where nothing needs fixing.
-
Support mothers to make sense of change emotionally, practically and identity-wise.
-
Use coaching to empower rather than instruct.
-
Help women reconnect with what matters most to them.
-
Invite in curiosity, creativity and courage.

Who this is for
The Mother Holding is for women who:
-
Need to appreciate the matrescence impact
-
Feel they have changed, but have not yet caught up with who they are becoming
-
Are tired of trying to be “perfect” and want to be real
-
Want space to think, feel and choose consciously
-
Are overwhelmed by "advice"
-
Are open to reflection and growth
It may not be for mothers looking for:
-
Parenting techniques
-
Quick fixes
-
A manual

What we believe
We believe:
-
Motherhood is a transition full of possibilities and challenges.
-
Identity needs time and space to evolve.
-
When women connect with themselves, they find their own answers.
-
Change becomes easier when it is understood rather than resisted.
Motherhood is an evolution.
With the right support, it can be the beginning of a richer, more aligned and more powerful life.
